What is a cool opportunity or project I've had while working at Intel?

We're creating an open source OS for netbooks that focuses on an exciting user experience - one of the things that have been hardest to do for Linux in the past. Linux has failed to succeed on the client - this is a totally different way to approach that problem; and it's working. Really cool!

What's the biggest misconception that I think people have about working at Intel?

People think of Intel as this huge semiconductor manufacturer - and don't see the agile, fast moving open source software company inside of it.

What communities or networks do I participate in at Intel?

The open source community across Intel may not be a formalized "network", but it's active and strong and keeping me busy.

What do I do when I'm NOT at work?

Photography, blogging, and flying airplanes as a private pilot.

If I could live and work abroad for a year, where would I go?

I AM living and working abroad. I was born in Germany and was hired by Intel Germany. Relocated to the US and have since become a dual citizen and have started a family in the US.

What's the coolest gadget that I'd like to purchase?

It's always the next thing that we are working on, that I see prototypes of, that isn't available, yet.
